Anti-refugee stickers being placed on street furniture in Reigate, Woodhatch, Redhill and Earlswood are being treated as a hate crime by Surrey Police.
A post from Surrey Police's Reigate and Banstead Borough beat Facebook page warned that the stickers, which contain anti-refugee messages, "will not be tolerated".
The stickers have been reported by residents and Reigate and Banstead Borough Council housing wardens.
