Surrey Police were called to an area of land near the M25 at Godstone following the discovery of debris at the location at around 9am.
It appeared that the debris consisted of part of an aircraft and an investigation was launched into how it turned up at the location.
Officers quickly established the item belonged to an aircraft which is no longer in service and is likely to have fallen from a trailer or other road vehicle while being transported.
Thankfully we don't often find aircraft...
